Julian Mackay was invited to join the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow, Russia, after winning a ballet competition at age 11. Then, at age 17, he secured a year-long apprenticeship at the Royal Ballet in London after winning the Prix de Lausanne Medal. Now, this summer, he’ll be the youngest soloist starting at the Mikhailovsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, Russia.
